Hi,
I have just been granted my 457 visa via my company who are transferring me to Australia with my family. We have been on holiday and loved it and are thinking of making the move permanent and therefore purchasing a home there. Am i best to go direct to a bank or a mortgage broker like yourself?

Hi Craig, This was not my question but was really helpful. You have answered many of my questions and I am definitely going to you for assistance on buying my first property. Shirley

Hi Thomas, Congratulations on your visa. Personally I think it would be best to approach a specialist in 457 visa mortgages like myself that understands your situation. It also really all depends on the purchase price you are seeking and the deposit you have. If you have more than a 20% deposit and enough to cover stamp duty (approximately 4% of the purchase price) then it might be possible that you can get an approval by approaching your bank but your standard lender probably won't understand the visa you are on and you might get knocked back. When it comes to 457 visa Home loans, we understand the whole process having worked in the industry for many years and assisting hundreds of applicants in the same position as yourself. If your deposit is less than 20% you should definitely speak to us to get the best advice in the market for purchasing property in Australia on a 457 visa. We don't charge you a fee and have access to a wide range of lenders and products, so why go to one bank and just receive one offering? Please feel free to contact us if you have any more questions
